Iniko – 333
Iniko’s latest single, 333, a prelude to their upcoming album, is a captivating release blending celestial melodies with introspective themes. The song reflects Iniko’s signature ethereal sound, combining alternative and indie rock influences. It explores themes of self-realization and the spiritual significance of interconnectedness, aligning with the artist’s broader vision of awakening and breaking free from societal constraints.
Matthew Ryan Thomas – Armour and the Arrow
From Ireland comes the wonderful Matthew Ryan Thomas. This song arrived as a package of pure undeniable infectious pop joy. It is both as anthemic as it is emotive and hits with a beat that carries a cinematic flurry with it that is heart racing. ‘Armour and the Arrow’ conjures a feeling of fantasy we all want to be part of.
Selfish Bodies – Ego Death
Edmonton’s Selfish Bodies has delivered a true belter of a track in their new song ‘Ego Death’. Equally reflective as it is punching, the track is a stand out for the band and serves as a strike to the over inflated self in the face of those less served. Politics aside, Selfish Bodies has taken yet another massive stride into the alt-rock arena and is quickly cementing themselves as future giants in Canadian music.
Tea Fannie – We Up
Tea Fannie’s song “We Up” is a vibrant celebration of empowerment and community, blending smooth beats with thoughtful, observational lyrics that reflect her distinct voice in Canada’s hip-hop scene. The track captures her ability to channel introspection and resilience into a sound that’s both catchy and meaningful.
Gabe Lopez – Long Road
Industry veteran and Cali kid Gabe Lopez, who has toured with such names as icon Belinda Carlisle, and has served as music producer and arranger on Rupaul’s Drag Race, returns with his latest track “Long Road”, a sweeping, haunting song that elevates the artist further into the spotlight. “Long Road” gives us a bolder look at who Gabe Lopez the artist is and the complexity and variance of his artistry.
Forrest Mortifee – Paraphrasing
BC artist Forrest Mortifee’s latest song, Paraphrasing, continues to showcase his unique blend of neo-soul and lyrical depth. Known for intertwining personal identity and universal themes, Mortifee uses his music to explore emotions and connections with poignant storytelling. Drawing from influences in indie-soul and alt-R&B, Paraphrasing offers an introspective yet empowering sound that reflects his artistic journey and ethos as a transgender artist promoting trans joy and authenticity in his work.
Tis the Season! The holidays are upon us and our queer music artists have been busy crafting their own versions of holiday classics. So as we dip into December, it’s time to start looking at some the best, new queer holiday rerleases.
Shawnee Kish – Favoutite Gift
Shawnee Kish’s new holiday song Favourite Gift is a heartfelt celebration of the season’s most meaningful moments. The track embodies warmth and gratitude, focusing on the importance of love and connection during the holidays. Shawnee’s soulful vocals and tender lyrics make it a standout addition to festive playlists. Her ability to capture the essence of what truly matters during the holidays ensures Favourite Gift resonates with listeners of all ages.
Brian Falduto – Christmas Solo
An original holiday song, “Christmas Solo” is a joyful, country-pop anthem that celebrates the unique beauty of spending the holidays alone. With playful lyrics and a lively production, the track reimagines solo holidays as a time for self-love and relaxation, offering a refreshing perspective in contrast to the usual romantic or familial holiday themes. Falduto’s heartfelt delivery and a festive saxophone solo make this a standout holiday track for anyone embracing their own company this season.
Steven Taetz – Light the Lights
Steven Taetz’s new holiday single, Light the Lights, is a heartwarming celebration of the festive season, blending vintage Christmas vibes with Beach Boys-inspired harmonies. Part of his holiday album My Christmas Wish, the song highlights the universal spirit of light and joy, connecting holidays like Diwali, Hanukkah, and Christmas. Its upbeat 1960s groove evokes a lively holiday dance party, making it a standout track for the season.

Sebastian Gaskin – Brown Man
